Mac & Wild, aka the Scottish game, seafood and whisky champions (and all round top restaurant), have just opened a winter pop-up in the City on Devonshire Square bringing Scotland to the heart of London.
Featuring a heated winter terrace and 110-covers, the restaurant will serve the award-winning Veni-moo burgers and venson chateaubriand as well as new dishes such as suckling pig, rare breed hogget and buckets of Scottish langoustine. Downstairs in the bar you can snack on whisky nuts, venison Scotch eggs, Scottish sausage rolls and charcuterie and drink whisky until 2am – maybe don’t schedule in an early morning meeting the next day. Christmas Scottish delicacies will include a Christmas burger of confit-fried turkey with creamy brie, homemade cranberry sauce, bacon and Scottish venison – sure beats a turkey sandwich in a red box. There’ll also be a Mac & Wild trifle which contains their own pre-bottled Mac & Wild whisky cocktail and a dram on the side.
It isn’t just about feasting either, you can be transported to a shoot in the Highlands in the shooting simulator room and take part in a haggis making masterclass and learn how to pair chocolate and whisky.
