Sir Winston Churchill Afternoon Tea at The Wellesley

One of Britain’s most prized politicians made it onto the £5 note this year, and to honour that, boutique hotel The Wellesley has launched their Sir Winston Churchill afternoon tea. Churchill already has a huge presence within the hotel – there’s a suite in The Penthouse named after him but perhaps more fitting is the portrait that looks over the Cigar Lounge, which is in fact painted on tobacco leaves!

The afternoon tea itself is a true nod to the icon; there’ll be tiramisu bowler hats, chocolate cigars, and a bespoke tea blend. The menu has combined Churchill and traditionally Italian food to create a unique tea to be enjoyed by all.

For the adults, enjoy a cigar in the hotel’s Cigar Lounge; they were one of Churchill’s greatest passions, he was hardly without one and he did pretty well in life so take note. The hotel’s Cigar Sommelier has won a few awards so you know you’ll be getting the best!

What’s more, it’s the anniversary of Churchill’s birthday at the end of the month and there’s no better way to celebrate than to indulge in his passions.
