The Club Residencies Project

The Club Residencies Project

What makes an already great bar better? When said bar hosts club residencies and that is exactly what The Bloomsbury Club Bar are doing, as part of an ongoing project. Bar manager Brian Calleja has collaborated with some of the world’s best bars, reinforcing the name The BCB has already made for itself.

Athens’ The Clumsies, which since it’s opening in late 2014 has been shortlisted in the top 4 for ‘Best International High Volume Bar’ and ‘Best New International Cocktail Bar’ will be the first to takeover the venue. They also reached 9th place in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2016. With drinks such as the Clumsy negroni (The Clumsies Old Tom Gin, The Clumsies Vermouth Blend, Campari, beeswax, pepper) and Johnnie Cola (Johnnie Walker Gold Reserve Scotch, pomegranate molasses, vanilla, Abbots bitters, cherry cola), we’re not surprised they’ve garnered such a reputation.

Of course it’ll be hard to top The Clumsies, but New York’s Black Tail, the new venture by the team at The Dead Rabbit (who currently hold the title of ‘Best Bar in the World’) will be next in hosting their residency, and their first ever. They’ll be bringing their Prohibition inspired ambience to the already moody and atmospheric BCB and no doubt their cocktails will be just as glamorous.

It’s true, the best bars have been brought to us in London. Ideal.

The Clumsies residency is 2nd-4th November, open 4pm till late. Further details about new collaborations will be released in the new year.
