It’s the weekend before Christmas, festive spirits are high, as are stress levels for last minute Christmas shoppers! Popping up in Parsons Green this weekend is Winter on the Green. With its ice rink, Santa’s grotto, outdoor cinema and classic Christmas market food, it’s not dissimilar to your Winter Wonderlands and other such events however, queues will be minimal and the beauty of Parsons Green is beyond compare!
After a skate around the rink, take the kids to visit Santa in his grotto, with gifts for all the best behaved children of course. Dance like nobody’s watching at the family friendly mini rave, complete with glowsticks, a snow machine, giant balloons and a giant parachute. And for the parents wanting to get their jolly on, there is a licensed bar. Sharky and George, known for their imaginative kid’s parties, will also be at the event with a whole host of activities lined up, including indoor snowball fights.
Later in the evening, the open air cinema will be screening all the favourite Christmas films. But first, take a stroll through the German market; there’s plenty of food on offer as well as a whole range of wintry cocktails – the Baileys spiked hot chocolate sounds particularly good to us. A few cocktails may lead you to the dancefloor because yes, there will be live music.
It’s the weekend before Christmas, but there’s still time – the shopping can wait, right?!
Winter on the Green will be open 16th-18th December on Parsons Green
