When the global ambassador for rum says that your rum bar is ‘one of the best places to drink rum in London’ you know you’re on to a good thing. We’re talking about Rum & Sugar and it’s just undergone a relaunch.

Housed in an urban, historic warehouse, which once imported goods from the West Indies -we’ll give you two guesses what… It’s now home to a restaurant that captures the spirits of the carnival islands. They’ve got over 200 rums to choose from and new rum cocktails – we’ve got our eye Nelson’s Blood made from Dictador 12-year rum, Larios gin, rose syrup, lime juice and chocolate bitters and Maestro Ramero’s Sour a blend of Don Q Gold, Chambord, maple syrup, Peychauds Bitters, raspberries and egg white.

On the food front, you’ll find the likes of papaya, lime and black pepper pork belly; jerk chicken, spiced fried plantain and yam gratin; whole roast West Indian spiced cauliflower, coriander yoghurt, chilli and garlic nut crumble and puddings such as dark chocolate pot, sticky Appleton Estate–infused black cherries, coconut and mint and a bread and butter pudding with a rum and raisin custard.
