After a few drinks let’s face it, all we really want to do is dance. It’s always harder than you think though to find a bar in which your cringey moves are acceptable but there’s always one we can rely on; Blues Kitchen, you never fail us. Embracing the particularly topical subject of the USA, the Southern-inspired bar/restaurant is hosting a unique collaboration with Brooklyn seafood hotspot, Extra Fancy, for three nights only.
Seeing out Dry January in style, the Surf vs Turf Wars will make cocktail making a whole lot more competitive than usual as mixologists battle it out with three specially created cocktails for the occasion. We love the sound of ‘Honey I Spiced the Kids’; Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, blanco tequila, fresh grapefruit and lime, finished with an intriguing hit of jalapeno honey. Blues Kitchen do American food properly so it’s good to hear they are serving six Texan BBQ dishes like chicken wings with a blue cheese dip and smoked goat tacos. From across the pond, Extra Fancy will be serving their smoked trout devilled eggs and oysters Rockefeller whilst it’s pudding where things will really hot up. Blues Kitchen are putting up a strong fight with their signature fried Oreo doughnuts with salted caramel dip vs Extra Fancy’s Boston cream pie. We sense a strong competition.
Surf vs Turf Wars is taking place at Blues Kitchen Shoreditch from Monday 30th-Wednesday 1st February
