Ah, Australia Day, the day that marks the raising of the Union Jack at Port Jackson, but also one that celebrates the diversity and beauty of the country. This year, celebrate at Aussie restaurant Dickie Fitz, who’ll be bringing you a South Pacific feast, wines and general celebratory fun.
The menu is as Australian as it gets – expect kangaroo tartare with mushroom ketchup, beetroot and egg yolk; BBQ Spencer Gulf prawns with special fried rice and pak choi; and banana bread sticky toffee pudding. There’ll be wines from Australia’s oldest family-run vineyard, Yalumba, and Australia’s finest whisky, Starward, on offer so you can celebrate Australia Day just as they will be down under – by drinking all the booze! Don’t worry though Aussies, you’re not alone in your love for a drink (or several). Still, there’ll be experts wandering around the restaurant, offering their insight into their alcoholic offerings so you too can learn how to perfectly pair food and wine…or pretend to anyway.
Prices for the evening start at £40 for four courses and a welcome cocktail with wine pairing option available
