The Christmas decorations are down and so is the mercury; leaving work when it’s 2 degrees outside has us wanting to head straight home and hygge. An evening of candles, hot water bottles and a movie sounds particularly appealing but if your new year’s resolution resembles something along the lines of making time for friends, date night or even just for yourself then don’t be so quick to reach for your front door key.
High above the streets of Knightsbridge, The Berkeley is relaunching its rooftop cinema for the new year to help ease the January blues with a touch of luxury. You can still watch Bridget Jones (as well as Notting Hill or Some Like it Hot) under a blanket, armed with a hot chocolate, only here the blankets will be down feather Moncler blankets and as well as hot chocolate guests will get mulled wine, home made mini shepherd’s pies and Champagne. The cinema (which is London’s only private rooftop cinema) is open to hotel guests as well as non-guests for two screenings per evening with individual wooden cabins cosy enough for two. Sound romantic? The rooftop will stay open until Valentine’s Day with a week of limited edition private viewings available to book for when a crowded, overpriced restaurant just doesn’t hit the mark.
The Berkeley’s Rooftop Winter Cinema runs from 5th January – 12th February at 5pm and 7.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday only with one week of limited edition private viewings for Valentine’s Day from 13th – 18th February.
