There’s just something about a pop-up that has us manically checking our diary, clearing whatever is interfering and heading over there before it vanishes as quickly as it appeared – and this is no different. Cadbury have announced the return of the ridiculously popular Creme Egg Cafe, but this time there is a twist.
Coinciding with the appearance of Creme Eggs in a shop near you and their new ‘hunting season’ adverts, it’s only fitting that the pop-up is coming in the form of a hunting lodge. The lodge will start off at the London Eye on the 27th January before jetting off (ok, maybe not quite that exotic) to Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and Edinburgh, ending up back in London at the end of February. Those in a rush can grab ’n’ go, with Creme Egg s’mores available to takeaway but the real magic happens when you take things a little slower. The main menu is concise but suitably decadent, with four Creme Egg-heavy dishes to choose from; Hunters’ hot chocolate (Cadbury hot chocolate with melted Creme Egg), forest fridge cake (crushed biscuits and nuts coated in chocolate and sprinkled with chunks of Creme Egg), Creme egg s’mores (giant marshmallow and Creme Egg pieces squished in between two biscuits) and a twist on last year’s much loved Creme Egg toastie – the Black Forest toastie with black cherries for a contribution to your 5-a-day. If that wasn’t enough, 100% of proceeds will go to the Prince’s Trust, so you can be charitable with your chocolate consumption.
The Cadbury Creme Egg Hunting Lodge is popping up at the London Eye on 27th January, 4.50pm-9pm and 25-26th February, 1.50-6pm, touring the UK in between
