As part of their Club Residencies project, The Bloomsbury Club Bar welcome BlackTail, the critically acclaimed NYC bar from the team behind The Dead Rabbit (officially named The World’s Best Bar). BlackTail itself evokes Prohibition era bars in Havana, with it’s name referring Aeromarine Airways, which helped give temporary respite to Americans from their booze-less land. Well, legal booze anyway. While drinks are inspired by Prohibition, they have been refined using modern techniques and for modern tastes.
Their inventive menu will certainly bring a taste of New York (and Havana) to London, offering four of BlackTail’s most popular drinks as well as BlackTail twists on four of BCB’s own cocktails. To complement, there’ll be a food menu, also taking inspiration from BlackTail’s own. Perhaps the standout dish from the menu is the rabbit Cuban sandwich, with the filling of confit rabbit leg, rosemary ham, roasted pork shoulder, swisse tomme, dill pickles and mustard sauce. Entertainment comes in the form of Cuban-inspired Jazz, a genre which flourished during Prohibition.
