You know that feeling? When you really love a place and you want to take all your friends but the time you actually manage to organise a meet up, the place is inexplicably and invariably full? Well fear no more. After an extensive refurbishment, The Imperial on King’s Road is once again open for business, and it’s bigger and better than ever.
Designed by Head Chef Reece Moore, The Imperial boasts a new seasonal menu that showcases fresh local produce, including tuna sashimi with black truffle and pickled mushrooms, and grilled veal loin with quinoa and parsley root puree, perfect for those who have managed to stick to their New Years resolutions (anyone?!), as well as those of us that haven’t.
Brunch lovers will particularly enjoy the additions to the menu, which feature a twist on baked eggs with peppers, oregano, streaky bacon and sumac yogurt added to the mix, as well as fresh smoothies and juices made on site, and a number of vegetarian options.
A collaboration with Perrier-Jouet has created a beautiful garden; think Instagram-worthy soft lighting with the bonus of all-weather seating (this is England after all) that works well alongside the warm tones and dramatic artwork of the interior. A sit up bar marries the New York feel of high-rise bar, with the space and light of huge Victorian windows – think Sex and the City meets Downton Abbey. We’ll take it.
