The Handbook
The Handbook

New season, new wardrobe. Well, the temperatures may still be in the single figures but that doesn’t stop us from planning ahead, Pinning our favourite summer looks and mentally packing for our trip to Croatia we booked on payday. Fashion week fever is about to sweep over London; the streets of Soho will come alive with bloggers, editors and models, there to be seen in covetable street style looks… and some outfits slightly more questionable.

Like any fashionista worth their salt, London Fashion Weekend – aka the most stylish event of the year – has had a bit of a makeover this year and will now be known as the London Fashion Week Festival. You’ll still find all the best parts of the event – everything from talks with the experts to catwalk shows and no, you don’t have to elbow your way on to the FROW – ticket holders all get access to shows including Huishan Zhang, Teatum Jones and our pick, Mother of Pearl. The talks will see industry experts and up-and-coming talents share their experiences in the world of fashion, with Q&As to get your burning question answered. Dreaming about a career in fashion? There’s a talk for that. Excited about Kensington Palace’s Diana exhibition? You’ll love the talk about her fashion story.

We all know the glamorous lifestyle is exhausting so it’s just as well that Maybelline New York and TONI & GUY will be on hand to refresh your makeup and spruce up your hair. And since we can’t all be driven around in chauffeured Mercedes’, you’ll at least want to carry your shopping in style. 150 brands will be showcasing everything from handbags to shoes (and many at industry-insider prices) and the great Dame of British fashion, Vivienne Westwood, has created a limited edition tote bag inspired by her AW17/18 show ‘Ectotricity’ that you can take it all home in. The bag is 100% organic cotton so it practices what it preaches – fashion can (and should) be chic and environmentally friendly. As if that wasn’t good enough, 50% of profits from the bags will be donated to the charity Fuel Poverty Action, chosen by Vivienne herself.

Style with substance all under one roof; it can only be London Fashion Week Festival.

London Fashion Week Festival runs 23rd – 26th February 2017
