Love is most certainly in the air and whether a bit of bling is the key to your heart or you would rather be swept off your feet by a blissful rush of sugar, Conrad London St. James are offering the delight of both with their limited edition ‘Love-Knot’ Valentine’s afternoon tea. Food is definitely the way to our hearts…
Indulge in the most quintessential of Valentine’s dates in the hotel’s Emmeline’s lounge – known for its afternoon tea. For one week only, you’ll a find romantically-themed assortment of opulent teas, decadent cakes and delicious nibbles served with a side of serious bling. The hotel has collaborated with Storey by Storey and Regency Jewellery so lovebirds can declare their love with diamonds as well as cakes and finger sandwiches. Storey and Storey have specially created the Love Knot bracelet, a delicate 14k gold-filled ring pendant and chain embellished with a single fresh water pearl and the classically elegant Park Lane pearl earrings to complete the look. For a bolder proclamation of everlasting love, the Amore diamond necklace from Regency Jewellery crafted in 18ct gold can speak no louder.
Food-wise, classic sandwich flavours (roast beef and mustard; cucumber and mint; roasted pepper and goats cheese) are accompanied by more inventive savouries like a sweetcorn brûlée and beetroot yoghurt, labneh and mini falafels. Meringue ‘kisses’ and a frosted rose and vanilla Viennese make up the sweet side, with scones coming in both hazelnut and orange blossom flavours. It’s a traditional tea, with a twist. A live harpist and gorgeous menus designed by big-time Instagrammer and illustrator Sally Spratt of The Lust List round the tea off.
Get one up on hearts and flowers and confess your love with food and jewels. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend after all, next to cake of course.
The Love Knot afternoon tea will be available at Conrad London St. James from 9 February until 16 February 2017
