River Cottage Residency at The Imperial

We just Googled how long it would take us to get to the award-winning River Cottage from The Handbook HQ. Apparently, it’s somewhere between 5 and 13 hours, unless we paid an unholy amount and flew. Basically, it takes rather a long time to get to there, it isn’t somewhere we can just visit for the evening, which is a shame. So, it’s rather good isn’t it that Steven Lamb, the curing and smoking expert is coming to London to cook up a six -course tasting menu at The Imperial.

Following on from the success of last year, he’ll be cooking up a taste of the Dorset countryside at the King’s Road favourite, The Imperial on the 27th and 28th February before heading over to their sister location in Surrey, The Three Horseshoes on the 2nd and 3rd of March. Focusing on locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, something which is important to both the River Cottage and The Imperial, the menu will include the likes of rare breed pork crackling with fennel salt and apple sauce and slow roasted venison shoulder with celeriac root fries and charred savoy cabbage, and rhubarb-b-q sauce. To drink will be Lyme Bay, English sparkling wine.

The time it takes us to get to The Imperial? Half an hour…

The residencies will include one dinner service on each day and will run from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Reservations are to be made directly by phone 0207 736 6081 or by email reservations@the-imperial.co.uk
