Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll know that 2013 saw Londoners rejoice at the Covent Garden opening of American favourite Shake Shack which, despite immediate success, did not open a new branch for another two years. Shake Shack has finally given us more reason to celebrate, opening its fifth site at Victoria’s Nova and sweet talking us into celebrating with a limited-edition Mast Brothers treat – the Mast Cocoa Beer Float – complimentary with the purchase of any burger on opening day.
Created by Shake Shack’s Culinary Director Mark Rosati and Mast London’s Head Chocolate Maker Jon Hogan, the Mast Cocoa Beer Float features Shake Shack’s freshly spun vanilla frozen custard and non-alcoholic Cocoa Beer, topped with Mast Brothers dark chocolate. As if the glorious sugar combination hadn’t won us over already, Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good means that five percent of sales from each Union Shack concrete will be donated to Shake Shack Victoria’s charity partner Caxton Youth, a local organisation that works to advance the education and social development of young people with disabilities.
Mast’s bean-to-bar chocolates will also make an appearance in two Victoria-exclusive concretes, the frozen custard delight we have all come to know and love, including a Union Shack (chocolate frozen custard, St. John Bakery chocolate and hazelnut brownie, fudge sauce, Mast Brothers chocolate chunks and sea salt) and the Peanut Butter Palace (vanilla frozen custard, peanut butter sauce, caramel sauce, Mast Brothers chocolate chunks and salted peanuts). To top it all off, the Victoria Shack will be spinning the aptly named Victoria concrete which features vanilla frozen custard, strawberry jam, St. John Bakery brown sugar biscuit and banana. Our advice? Bring friends so you can try them all.
Shake Shack Victoria Nova is opening 9th February 2017
