As a child, you were probably told you couldn’t have ice-cream/chocolate/pizza for breakfast – no one to stop us now though, eh? What you probably weren’t stopped from having was pasta though, probably because you never asked for it – but just think of how good it would be at 10am, a little carby goodness?
Stevie Parle thinks so too, because at his latest restaurant, Palatino, they have just launched their breakfast menu and it includes buccatini carbonara. Yep, you can now have carbonara for breakfast. If you can’t get your head round that, then other dishes include salt cod with potatoes and broken eggs; fennel sausage, borlotti beans and bacon and Onglet steak with egg, sage and chilli. Lighter dishes include ricotta hotcakes with fruit and Greek yoghurt with fruit, seeds and grains and, of course, cakes and pastries.
The coffee served is roasted at Stevie’s other restaurant, Craft London, and juices will include cucumber, kale, apple and ginger and orange, grapefruit, turmeric and lemon. At the moment it’s only available Monday to Friday, but it should be coming to the weekend soon!
Breakfast at Palatino is available Monday – Friday 8am – 10am
