We are in no doubt that London is the world’s culinary capital – and we’re in good company. Respected food critics Grace Dent and Tom Parker Bowles have joined forces for the UK’s biggest food festival; Evening Standard’s London Food Month. The festival runs throughout June – we have already told you about the pop-up kitchen with a whopping 40 Michelin stars – and will see hundreds of events across the capital from high-end dinners to free community events to celebrate the diversity of our city.
A night market is coming to Kensington for 12 evenings from 7th June and will see 50 of London’s top restaurants, food trucks and street food traders under one roof…albeit a roof with a 10,000 person capacity. It’s not all food though – DJs will provide the soundtrack and an outdoor cinema will provide entertainment. Get yourself shaking Bloody Marys at The Ketel One Vodka Kitchen oe sip on luxury cocktails made by world class bartenders using world class spirits at the suitably titled World Class Bar. In addition to the night market itself is everything from talks to masterclasses, Michelin-starred cuisine to street food favourites, guaranteed to get you licking your fingers.
Big names, small names, one city, one month; London Food Month is brewing and what’s that we hear. Oh, just our tummies rumbling.
London Food Month takes place throughout June with The Night Market taking place from Wednesday 7th – Sunday 18th June.
