There’s a Meaty Festival Hitting The Big Smoke

Move over music festivals, there’s a big juicy rib festival hitting town…say hello to The Big Smoke!

The Blues Kitchen, Brixton are transforming into a carnivores paradise, aka a 3-night rib festival. Yes you read that correctly, a festival celebrating juicy, smokey ribs accompanied by sets from world class blues, roots and soul artists every night. BBQ legends Neil Rankin, Wayne Mueller and DJ BBQ will be making our mouths water and the people to blame when our cheeks are smothered in BBQ sauce. There will even be a custom built propane tank 108-inch smoker – talk about serious smoking.

Neil Rankin, former Pitt Co and Smokehouse chef and the guy behind Temper, will be kicking off this meaty feast on Tuesday 25th April, bringing his rib expertise to the smokers at The Blues Kitchen. Wednesday 26th April will see Wayne Mueller fly into town, all the way from the States, to provide ribs marinated in his grandfather’s Texas barbecue house sauce. Thursday 27th April will see the return of DJ BBQ with his racks, stacks and ribs.

An extensive selection of over 100 rare and vintage Bourbons will be on hand to pair with the meat. Not a Bourbon drinker? There will be a wide range of cocktails and local craft ales to help sink the smoke.
