Out of all the Mondays in 2017, April 17th is set to be one of the best – it’s World Malbec Day! A whole day celebrating red wine and a day when Gaucho will be selling all 75 of its Malbecs at half price or less. It’s true what UB40 say, Red red wine can’t get you off my mind.
Argentina’s Domingo Faustino Sarmiento made it his mission to transform Argentina’s wine industry by introducing World Malbec Day and Gaucho will be celebrating appropriately by hosting 7 Days of Malbec. The event will showcase the grape that is at the heart of the Argentina wine culture and one which dominates Gaucho’s wine menu.
Guests at the event can expect to explore all aspects of Malbec and learn how winemaking has changed over the years. On 18th April, head to Gaucho Smithfield for an evening of Malbec and Chocolate (aka, heaven). To oak or not to oak? will be held at Gaucho Charlotte Street on the 19th April. Get educated on cool vs warm climates at Gaucho Tower Bridge on the 20th. The 21st will see an old school vs new school dinner at Gaucho Broadgate. Saturday 22nd will see the festival of Malbec at Gaucho Chancery Lane; think a tasting of over 60 wines from the highest vineyards in Northern Argentina to the Malbecs of the windy climbs of Patagonia, it’s definitely a date for the diary. The 23rd will see Gaucho Richmond providing a smokey beef and punch Malbec BBQ. Food is involved so we will be thinking of it as a hangover cure…fingers crossed for sun – this is one prime riverside destination.
7 Days of Gaucho will run from 17th of April to 23rd April at various Gaucho restaurants across London, full details on their website
