Hot. Tropical. Paradise. Not words you’d typically associate with London but the times (and seasons) are changing and the days of sweaty summer suits are to be replaced with your finest beachwear. The highly-anticipated summer rooftop, Brixton Beach, returns for another year of faux holiday vibes, this time with a Cuban fiesta theme.
This year, the ultimate urban beach, from the award-winning team behind South Pole Saloon and Big Apple Brixton, will transport wanderlust-stricken Londoners to a colourful paradise and what paradise is complete without alcohol? The Cuban-inspired cocktail menu will include Caribbean classics such as Rum Daiquiris, Piña Coladas, Cubanitos and Mojitos.
Some of the UK’s best street food vendors will also be on hand to serve up delicious dishes beachside including; mac and cheese experts, Mac to the Future, Brixton’s most loved Japanese soul food, Nanban, and STAKEhaus. Brixton Beach will also introduce weekly barbeque chef residencies from renowned BBQ joints from across the city every Thursday, welcoming some of the best restaurants to the roof including Mama’s Jerk and Negril.
To complete your Cuban experience in style, BB will host live music performances each weekend alongside daily events like rooftop yoga and cinema screenings. In July, Cuba’s biggest and wildest holiday, Carnival de Cuba, will be celebrated in style at the South London pop-up with Beach Carnival; a weekend festival filled with colour, Cuban dancers and afro-Cuban drum music.
Brixton Beach launches on Friday 26th May
