It’s no secret that Britain goes crazy when the sun decides to shine. Even if it’s only for a few hours, many of us will unapologetically head to the beach and soak up as much of the heat without getting any dodgy tan lines. With the recent spate of urban beaches popping up for summer 2017, the announcement of a traditional terrace comes as a refreshing change.
Opening on 22nd May, Mondrian London’s Summer Terrace will be the place to go unwind and watch the sun set. Inspired by the spectacularly scenic French Riviera, Mondrian’s stylishly designed heated exterior extends along the majority of the Southbank. Relax with friends on the beautiful blue and white throws, surrounded by citrus trees whilst overlooking the skyline of St. Paul’s and the City over the Thames. For guests who want a more botanical seating plan, a bespoke Grey Goose Boat can be rented out for up to ten people to enjoy an up-close riverside view of the Thames.
The Summer Terrace also boasts an American/British restaurant and drinking area lined with picturesque picket fencing. Order transatlantic dishes such as lobster with garlic chive butter, truffle flatbread and ceviche tacos, or other popular dishes from neighbouring restaurant Sea Containers.
Keeping in line with their Mediterranean theme, Mondrian have two limited edition cocktails for you to try in celebration of their partnership with Grey Goose. The Transatlantic Travel packs a light, fruity punch, mixing together Grey Goose Citron, Martini Rosso, lemonade and lemon juice whilst La Poire Espresso Martini gets a summer twist thanks to Grey Goose La Poire, espresso, maple syrup and Kahlua.
Southbank has never looked so Mediterranean.
Mondrian London’s Summer Terrace will be open from Monday 22nd May until September
