Forget the French Riviera, this summer, it’s all about Shoreditch and the Last Days of Shoreditch Riviera, a new summer pop-up that is running every Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout the summer.
First up, it’ll have its own urban beach with palm trees and decking – there won’t be any swimming though, unless you want to take a dip in the Thames… Secondly, there’ll be an escape room experience, Handmade Mysteries presents Plumbottom’s Magnificent Return, a frantic 5-minute pop-up that challenges teams of 2-3 to aid the ghost of Plumbottom with a fun, immersive experience. Obviously, everyone loves a bit of friendly competition, so if you complete it in the fastest time then you’ll win a mystery prize. Intriguing…
Lucky Voice will be there too with their karaoke – you’ll be able to hire rooms for up to 15 people. There’ll also be other themed rooms, including the Bowie Bauhaus and Purple Rain, which will be available to hire, so you and your pals can have your own little spot for long, hedonistic, summer afternoons.
You’re going to want something to dance to, naturally, and throughout the summer there’ll be endless events with the likes of Maribou State hosting an exclusive pre-party; curated nights from Anjunadeep and Soundcrash and day time parties from Fun DMC which children can go to too.
Nanny Bills will be there serving up their burgers and signature croquettes including favourites such as pea and feta and mac and cheese. There’ll be joined by Belli Freschi; a brand, spanking new venture from the team behind Shoreditch’s hidden gem, Bottega Prelibato. They’ll be rustling up authentic Italian dishes, with freshly baked pasta and a bespoke avocado bar on the menu. With five bars, you’re more than sorted for drinks.
So, there you go, Shoreditch’s take on the Riviera.
