A bespoke menu, Michelin-starred restaurateurs and collaborations with the UK’s most exciting chefs, yes, you’ve guessed it – it’s Social Sunday. And it’s back for the third year.
Here’s how it works, in each of the nine London-based restaurants in Jason and Irha Atherton’s The Social Company, top chefs will join up to create a tailored lunch menu for the day, all in aid of Hospitality Action. For example, Chef Patron of Little Social, Cary Docherty, will be teaming up with the Executive Chef from The Typing Room, Lee Wescott. Or head to The Social Eating House, where the Michelin starred duo Peter Sanchez-Iglesias and Paul Hood will be uniting for the first time. Over at Pollen Street Social, (the group’s flagship restaurant) Jason Atherton will be hosting ‘The Young Guns’ Elizabeth Allen, who is soon to launch solo venture Shibui, Mark Jarvis of successful British restaurant, Anglo, and James Cochran, formerly of The Ledbury and now at the helm of his eponymous restaurant James Cochran EC3 in Liverpool Street. Other chefs taking part include Ollie Dabbous, Ben Orpwood and Ben Tish, but unfortunately, you’ll only be able to attend one restaurant – so choose wisely!
You can’t expect to be dined by top chefs and not have cocktails from London’s best bartenders can you? No, that would just be rude! Fear not, behind The Social Eating House there will be a speakeasy bar with guest bartenders including Aidan Bowie of Dandelyan (or as his friends call him, World Class Bartender 2016) amongst others. The Blind Pig, Peg + Patriot and ‘Talented Mr Fox’ aka Scout’s Matt Whiley will all be in attendance to mix up signature cocktails to accompany the unique menu.
All staff will be working for free on the day with donated produce, so all proceeds from this event will be donated directly to Hospitality Action.
Social Sunday will take place on the 11th June 2017
