The Gladwin Brothers Launch Weekly Farmers Market

We love a market. Food market, vintage market, night market – we’re not fussy but there’s just something about taking our shopping outdoors that makes the experience so much better than a soulless, overly air conditioned shop. You get up close and personal with the sellers, who have often made/crafted/sourced their wares themselves and get the amazing opportunity to learn about the origins of what you’re buying in a pretty unbeatable way.

A handful of restaurants come close to the market experience, creating their menus around seasonal produce and doing their best to translate this to the customer through informative menus and knowledgable staff. Some of the best at this? Richard, Oliver and Gregory, aka The Gladwin Brothers and the trio behind farm-to-fork restaurants, The Shed, Rabbit and Nutbourne. This summer, the boys are teaming up with London Farmers’ Markets to bring farm life that little bit closer to home so Londoners can experience rural produce right on our doorstep.

Ransome’s Dock Farmers Market is launching on Saturday 10th June in the courtyard of their Battersea restaurant, Nutbourne. With a little help from London Farmers’ Markets, the organisation that has enabled farmers to sell their produce directly to the consumer for over 20 years, cutting out the middleman and enabling the farmers to keep 100% of the profit. 25 food stalls will set up shop each Saturday, selling a whole range produce from across the UK that shoppers can hopefully incorporate into their menus for the week ahead or dinner parties that night. The brothers will host their own stall, selling a different seasonal dish each week alongside the award-winning wine from their vineyard in West Sussex.

To learn from the farm to fork experts, Nutbourne itself will be offering visitors their signature sustainable dishes across brunch and lunch whilst the market is open. Think BBQ spring lamb with celeriac puree and the Big Battersea Breakfast – their take on the full English – as well as wine sold at farmer’s market prices.

Ransome’s Dock Farmers Market launches on Saturday 10th June and will take place every Saturday thereafter, 10am – 2pm in the courtyard of Nutbourne
