The Afternoon Tea for Meat Lovers

We can’t say we’ve ever walked out of an afternoon tea and not felt ten pounds heavier but sometimes half-hearted sandwiches and soggy scones just don’t satisfy emotionally. And yes, we fully believe afternoon tea is an emotionally-charged experience. Say goodbye to cucumber, farewell to smoked salmon and replace your fillings with the heartiest options of all: get set for the meatiest tea in town.

Steak destination, Heliot Steak House are proving that tea doesn’t have to be dainty as they put their spin on sarnies, pastries and drinks. The restaurant have incorporated their signature 28-day aged USDA prime steak into mini sliders with truffle sauce, grilled polpette (meatballs) and sirloin Yorkshire puds with red wine jus too. Just because it’s not dainty doesn’t mean it’s not sophisticated…

Moving up a tier you’ll find Victoria sponge with strawberry marmalade, chocolate Kahlua tarts and summer fruit tartlets with a dollop of mascarpone. If you want a menu of exotic teas to flick through then you may want to go elsewhere (although English breakfast and fruit teas are available); here you’ll be hydrated with a trio of beer, wine of cocktails. The tea is launching in perfect time for Father’s Day so treat the old man in your life whilst also increasing your iron intake. Oh, and did we mention the name? MeaTea – appropriate.

The MeaTea at Heliot Steak House will be served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am-3:45pm, available now
