Another day, another terrace. However, the new terrace at The Balcon in Sofitel London St James promises to give you a bit more than just your average terrace bar and restaurant this summer.

Guests will be able to escape from the bustle of St James’s and relax on the newly opened terrace for dining and drinks. Taking inspiration from the Mediterranean, The Balcon has introduced a new menu to match the warmer months. There will be a selection of filling salads and small plates such as roasted goat’s cheese salad complimented with pomegranate, honey and almonds and grilled harissa prawns paired with avocado and grapefruit. For those looking for something more substantial, they will still be delivering their classic dishes including their famous The Balcon beef burger with Emmental and rosemary fries, the Yorkshire Dexter rib eye and, of course, fish and chips.

Something that really caught our eye is the introduction of the tailor made G&T’s. G&T’s are best served on a terrace in the sun and apparently now tailored to us too. The St James Bar has teamed up with Fever-Tree for the whole summer with 25 premium gins and matching tonics all carefully selected by Bar Manager Enzo. So there’s sure to be a cocktail to suit every G&T fan.

The new terrace promises to not only to deliver excellent food and drinks but also the entertainment too – there will be a whole range of activities and exclusive menus to enjoy. In June, live musicians will be there every Wednesday to entertain guests in celebration of the French festival ‘Fete de la Musique’. They are also teaming up with spirits brand Williams Chase in creating interesting combinations including ‘Mr Bow Tie’ which comprises of violet syrup, rose liqueur, lime juice, passion fruit juice and egg white.

The Balcon Terrace is now open from midday to 9pm
