You might always say you’re going to discover your artistic side, but how about you take it a little bit further than just simply a paintbrush and a mediocre view this time? This summer The Connaught is offering a series of outdoor painting masterclasses in collaboration with Chelsea art store Green & Stone and distinguished British artist Alex Fowler, the man behind paintings of Britain’s most beautiful landscapes.
Fowler will be putting down the paintbrush and taking hand at teaching as he conducts a three hour masterclass with his essential art tips and tricks. Green and Stone will be providing the equipment to turn you into the next Monet whilst The Connaught will be doing what they do best by providing you with a hearty breakfast to keep those creative juices flowing.
The Connaught on Carlos Place has a long standing tradition with Britain’s favourite artist’s having a private collection of 3,000 pieces and counting. Alex Fowler speaks highly of the location, “With inspirational sites including hidden gem Mount Street Gardens, The Connaught’s Tadao Ando water feature on Carlos Place and the unique architectural character this neighborhood has to offer I can think of no better place than Mayfair to provide the perfect backdrop to get creative.”
With one of the UK’s most distinguished artists teaching you plus the architectural setting that has inspired artists such as Damien Hirst and Graham Sutherland, you might not have any choice but to let your creative side run free this summer.
Classes will take place between 9am and 1pm throughout the summer. There is a minimum of 2 people and maximum of 6 people per class, some classes may be cancelled due to weather.
