So we are all fans of The Cinnamon Club but what if we told you that over the next few months they are inviting London’s favourite chefs for a series of special evenings with unique tasting menus. Just when you thought the famous Indian restaurant hadn’t brought enough flavour they will be taking things to the next level with collaborations from the most exciting chefs of the moment.
To kick off the exciting series of events, Adam Handling, chef patron at The Frog and former contestant on Masterchef: The Professionals, will be joining Vivek Singh in the kitchen on 12th June. Adam is praised for his expertise in Asian cooking, which will perfectly compliment Vivek’s famous Indian cuisine. On 21st June, Aggi Sverrisson will be bringing his European and Scandinavian influences to the spice of The Cinnamon Club – a combination of cuisines that is rarely seen but promises to deliver; think Icelandic gravlax and semolina shells with mint and tamarind.
Spanish genius José Pizarro will be joining the team on 19th July and, for the first time in this series, both chefs will be collaborating on every dish of the five-course menu. Each plate promises to bring the very best of Spanish and Indian spices, such as cumin and chilli octopus and a tandoori-spiced pigeon breast with sweet sour pumpkin and creamy rice. Don’t think that desert will lack in taste either, they will be serving a strawberry, balsamic vinegar and coriander salad with Pedro Ximenez jelly and cinnamon crema catalana. Lastly, Vivek will be reuniting with Mark Hix from Mark’s Kitchen Library Series following their previous success, to serve exciting pairings like stir-fried chicken and watermelon with hoisin sauce. There will also be a selection of small plates with salmon carpaccio with caramel muri and smoked escalope of venison with pomegranate raita. Each dish will include the very best of Mark’s signature British cooking combined with Vivek’s unique take on modern Indian food.
Each evening promises to bring the very best of each chefs signature cooking and will be something not to be missed this summer.
