Just as winter is the time to gorge on mince pies, summer is the time to eat all the gelato and today we welcome a new place to get our dairy fix – Unico.
Opening in Notting Hill, the new Italian delicatessen is run by the team behind one of Bologna’s best -loved gelaterias, Cremeria Funivia. Made on site in the gelato lab, flavours include pistachio, due torri – mascarpone gelato with chocolate and hazelnut sauce; cremino – white chocolate infused with hazelnut and the signature, Notting Hill – fior di Bufala gelato drizzled with Aceto Balsamico di Modena.
Alongside the gelato which will come in cones, tubs, shakes and gelato cakes; you’ll also be able to get coffee from Terzi the famed Italian roastery and Italian sandwiches called the bubble – think of it as a savoury doughnut filled with the likes of spinach and ricotta and prosciutto with mozzarella.
Designed by Motif Design, Unico will be set across two floors so you can eat in, but fingers crossed it’ll stay hot this summer and you can eat your gelato in the sun.
