Just when you thought we’d run out of ideas of where to enjoy a G&T, London’s first ever Floating Pocket Park comes to Paddington! This unique area will be the first of its kind in central London and will be hosting a variety of events this summer.
They won’t be forgetting about World Gin Day on Saturday 10th June as the unique venue will be the only place to celebrate what should really be a national holiday (we’re missing bank holiday season already, can you tell?) .The Botanical Bar goes perfectly with the outdoorsy atmosphere that the Floating Pocket Park brings right in Paddington Basin on the Grand Union Canal. With acclaimed garden designer Tony Wood behind it, the venue promises to provide you with the ultimate city escape this summer. It can hold up to 120 guests who will be mesmerised by the multi-stemmed Tibetan cherry trees and flowers complete with lawns, deck chairs and even its very own canal boat mooring all in the commuting heart of the city.
As it’s such a significant day for London’s favourite spirit, what you’ll be served will be a far cry from your standard G&T. There will be a whole range of gins and gin cocktails to satisfy every G&T drinker and they’ve got the best of the bunch to make them with. Such as, Beefeater London Dry Gin, Beefeater 24, Plymouth and Monkey accompanied by some interesting tonics like grapefruit and rosemary, bitter orange and elderflower, and ginger ale – you’ve never seen your favourite cocktail quite like it! One of the signature cocktails they’ll be serving up is ‘We’ve Got The Whole World Gin Our Hands’ made with Beefeater 24, fresh lavender and lemon balm. Others from the menu include ‘Dr Greenthumb’, ‘Monkey Business’ and ‘Island in The Sun’, all made with a botanical look and feel in mind. You’ll even get to put your bartending skills to the test with cocktail making masterclasses and gin tasting.
If you’re not a gin lover, Perrier-Jouet Champagne will be served by the glass as well as a range of mocktails, soft drinks and even some delicious Cornish ice cream (if the weather holds up)…
The Botanical Bar will be open from 10th June and throughout the summer on Thursdays and Fridays from 12-9pm
