If there’s one thing that 2017 has taught us, it’s that we can’t get enough of matcha and poké. The Japanese trend has well and truly taken over London, so much so that the guys at Tombo need to open up a third café just to satisfy the city’s craving. They’ve had success in South Kensington and Soho and next they’ll be taking over Fitzrovia.
Family run by mother, Manami, and her two sons, Louis and Leo Sloley the newest addition to the Tombo family has been designed by the trio. So we’ve got the authentic Japanese decor sorted, how about the food? Tombo have raised the bar pretty high with their poké dishes and the newest addition is set to not disappoint. All dishes use the highest quality sashimi grade fish from their Atari Japanese fish suppliers for the freshest taste. They will be serving up their signature favourite from the Soho branch, Kaisen Poké, made with ponzu citrus soy, salmon and tuna, edamame, avocado and nori. Plus their vegan and teriyaki chicken poké served with rice and courgette noodles. And if you’re really picky about what you want, you can even ‘Build Your Own Poké’ to pick and choose from their set of fresh ingredients.
Tombo also know a thing or two about Matcha. They are the suppliers for several other cafés and patisseries in London so you know they know how to get the good stuff. Tombo’s philosophy is ‘the brighter colour the better’ when it comes to matcha and they don’t stop at tea. They’ve also got lattes, ice cream, Matcha Tarts and Cheesecakes to feed all every kind of matcha addict. It’s a matcha made in heaven….yes we went there.
Tombo Fitzrovia will be opening on 24th July 2017.
