For those planning on a day at the races, Goodwood’s official food partner, rhubarb, has launched two new menus, because of course, races aren’t just about the racing, they’re about the food too…well we like to think so.

Available in their private boxes, the menus are exact opposites of each other. Depending on how you feel you can choose to either be virtuous or indulgent and the choice isn’t easy.

Perfect for when the hot weather has you craving something lighter, the virtuous menu begins with kale and ginger shots and canapes such as yellow fin tuna tartare, smashed avocado and black barley wafer. To start there is sumac crusted ironback squash served with a superfood salad, tender stem broccoli and a pomegranate and orange dressing. Main courses include poached sea trout with charred baby gem, warm heirloom tomatoes and almond pesto, whilst pudding is griddled pineapple with frozen raspberries, basil yoghurt and lime syrup.

Or you can go for something a little more decadent, the indulgent menu includes puffed pork skin with baconnaise (dangerously moreish); devilishly good autumn truffle and smoked Montgomery cheese toasties; fillet of Goodwood Estate beef served with 48 hour braised short rib, glazed ceps, triple-cooked chips, saffron aioli and scraped raclette and for pudding, salted caramel and Manjari Valhrona chocolate fondant, clotted cream ice cream and fermented raspberry.
