The vegan and vegetarian take-over is one step closer to victory as Farmacy launches a plant-based afternoon tea to coincide with National Afternoon Tea Week (14-20 August). This unique tea will begin with a pot of hemp leaf tea on arrival (or any other tea infusions that takes your fancy) before enjoying the three -tier tea.
Sticking with the classic savoury then sweet layout the tea begins with the likes of raw quiche filled with organic spinach ‘cream’ topped with pickled fig, and jackfruit and pickled chilli tacos. The sweeter section will have Farmacy’s strawberry and cashew mousse, lemon ‘meringue’ pie and rich chocolate and praline ganache. If you think the crux of the classic afternoon tea had been forgotten you would be mistaken; in lieu of clotted cream will be coconut clotted ‘cream’ with pineapple and apricot jam.
One of the more interesting aspects of the tea is where they’ve taken inspiration from an apple to create a mock apple….made from apple. The restaurant’s talented team of pastry chefs have created a replica green apple complete with stem and filled with fresh apple compote – for when real fruit just won’t cut it.
Farmacy’s ‘High’ Tea will be served between 3:30 – 5pm for the duration of National Afternoon Tea Week and then at the same time weekly from Friday through to Sunday.
