Gear up for some hot hotdoggery down at bubbledogs this September. To celebrate their 5th birthday our favourite (slightly biased as it is the only one) champagne-and-hotdog venue will be running their Hot Dog Challenge, an annual competition that sees a slew of the UK’s finest chefs go head-to-head in blind tastings to find out who will be top dog of hot dogs. The winning creation will be given a month-long residency on the bubbledogs menu at their Fiztrovia restaurant with £1 each sale going to the Red Cross and Action Against Hunger.
With more star (and Michelin starred) chefs than you can shake a Frankfurter at, the likes of Tom Kerridge, Quality Chop House’s star duo Shaun Searley and Tomos Parry, Ali Borer from Smoking Goat and Magnus Reid from Legs and many more will be getting their wieners out hoping to impress an equally imposing line-up of judges.
The panel will include Jason Atherton, Hawksmoor’s Richard Turner plus Scott Collins and if previous years are anything to go by they will be blind-tasting some pretty unique takes on the traditional hot dog. The evening will be compared by The Guardian’s top hot dogger, Joe Warwick.
Held on Monday 4th September it’s an unmissable event if you like your dogs hot. Guests will be treated to champagne and will get to taste every hotdog entered into the competition, plus canapés. At £35 tickets to the leading sausage party in London are well worth every penny. What’s not to like?
Doors for the bubbledogs birthday party and Hot Dog Challenge open at 6.30pm and it will be held at iconic foodie venue Borough Market.
