Lamb lollipops, brioche French toast and caramelise chicken pastilla; the menu is kicking off at new restaurant Great Guns Social. Now while the name may spark off a heated debate in America, the reason this is called Great Guns, is after founder, Laura Gregory’s global content and music video company, Great Guns and just as that company champions up and coming talent, so will this new restaurant.
By hosting a roster of exciting chefs, guided by celebrity chef Maria Elia, the menu will always be new and interesting and you have a reason to keep returning. First into the kitchen is Khalid Dahbi. Hailing from Morocco, Khalid, who has worked in top international restaurants and Michelin-starred establishments including Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s, Bibendum Restaurant, Gaucho Group, and Jamie Oliver’s, is using his talents to create authentic North African cuisine in London. Expect to see the likes of caramelised chicken and almond pastilla; glazed tangia of Jacob’s beef rib and purple aubergine with figs and almonds served with butter couscous.
Soon to be a restaurant staple of Borough, Great Guns Social is ingratiating itself with the neighbours by making home-made jams and syrups with ingredients from the local market. Adding an element of mystique the restaurant is hidden by a façade of former public house on Southwark Bridge Road.
Great Guns Social can be found at 96 Southwark Bridge Road, Southwark, SE1 0EF
