Having a ruff day? Feeling like you need to slow down and just take a paws for thought? Spend some quality time with your favourite four-legged friend at healthy restaurant Squirrel, which for National Dog Week is hosting a doggy brunch on 23rd September and a nutritional drop-in service on 28th September. Both events promise to be pawfully good for both you and your dog, with doggy experts and delicious food on offer (don’t worry, you don’t have to eat dog food).
Launching the Healthy Hounds’ Hangout, the brunch will feature Squirrel’s healthy breakfast offerings for owners (e.g. Salmon & Avocado Toast and the Date & Pecan Pot), and Biologically Appropriate Raw Food (BARF) dog food from Poppy’s Picnic for dogs to tuck into. Professionals from Poppy’s Picnic will be offering hound advice on what makes the perfect nutritious meal for your dog, and certified canine nutritionist Moddie Lambert will host a Q&A. We’re talking need-to-know information, top-notch nosh and time to spend with your pawsome pal. So if you think this is just an ordinary event, you’re barking up the wrong tree – it’s anything mutt.
But the furry fun doesn’t stop there – the doggy drop-in clinic will give you and your dog a good old MOT, thanks to Moddie Lambert and Squirrel’s co-founder and head nutritionist, Zoe Stirling. They will be holding one on one sessions featuring a day-to-day nutritional breakdown, plus tips on promoting a healthy lifestyle through changes to our diets. Guests will even receive a doggy-bag (that one wasn’t a pun) of Poppy’s Picnic BARF treats, packed with all the vitamins and minerals your dog needs, meaning if Rover, Buddy or Rex is feeling a bit under the weather, he’ll be back pup and running in no time.
Our canine comrades bring us so much joy, but we do at times take them for granted. So really, this is the leashed we can do to make it up to them. You can’t pawsibly miss this one!
