‘Red, red, wiiiiiine…’ may have been a massive hit for UB40, forever marrying together the unlikely couple of Jamaican Music and Cabernet Sauvigon. But now it’s about to get a bit more complicated for reggae and vin rouge, welcome into the threesome… Pizza!

It’s a night of pizza, wine and reggae music and it sounds as brilliant as it is batty. Pizza legends Made of Dough started towing their oven around the country with a van before landing in their Peckham shipping container kiosk this year. Meanwhile independent wine merchants Lea & Sandeman have been scouring the wine regions of the world since 1988 and will have the perfect pairings for whatever pizza you throw at them. The evening will be accompianied by chilled regae vibes from start to finish.

The first of the wine and pizza series launches on 20th September with a simple margherita with early harvest olive oil; a creamy portobello mushrooms, truffle and burratina pizza; a fresh basil pesto & zucchini ribbons pizza and a meaty Flock and Herd fennel sausage and potato pizza. Each pizzas will be teamed up with wines with the personality to suit, from the ripe and spicy 2013 Kleos Aglianico Luigi Maffini to the elegant 2016 Rosso di Montepulciano Cantine Dei.

As the organisers put it “Think champion pizza, award winning wines and reggae riddims”. We’re in.
