Afternoon tea with a serving of scandal! Scandal Water at The London EDITION, the afternoon tea concept reminiscent of the gossipy afternoon teas of 19th century high society, is getting another twist. To celebrate the new Portraits Collection from luxury perfume house Penhaligon’s, comprising a series of scents inspired by the secrets of the British aristocracy, Punch Room is pairing scents from the collection with its food and drink offerings to enrich the tastes and create a truly multisensory experience. This godscent is just what we’ve been waiting for.
First up on the Portraits Collection is Monsieur Beauregard: based on a fictional French character, the scent contains orris, sandalwood and cinnamon, and will be paired with green and jasmine tea, cider punch and chicken rouillard with wild mushrooms and smoked garlic croutons. The second scent is the ruthless Countess Dorothea: aromas of bergamot, red ginger oil and sherry-cashmeran will float alongside the likes of vanilla tea, Jamaica flower punch, cherry mousse and juzu ganache with a white chocolate and cinnamon tart.
So, if generic afternoon teas are, well, not your cup of tea, the concept behind this one is totally new and fresh (as a daisy). What really would be scandalous would be to miss out on this one-off experience, which promises to be unlike anything you’ve seen (or smelled) so far.
The limited edition collaboration will be on offer Friday to Sunday with seatings at 3pm and 4pm, until the end of October.
