We were thrilled to hear about the popup coming to Tate Modern, it’s Pure Filth. Get your minds out of the gutter, Pure Filth isn’t what you’re thinking, it’s a new food concept combining decadent cuisine with truly nutritious ingredients, healthy junk food if you will.
Timed to coincide with the upcoming Amedeo Modigliani exhibition at the museum, nutritionist Rosemary Ferguson and chef Gizzi Erskine will be launching the popup over 3 weekends at the end of November and start of December and we’re genuinely excited about it. After all, junk food that’s actually good for you is the holy grail.
The menu will include a breakfast menu of veggie sausage and egg, carrot muffin with a house cheese slice, spinach and ketchup. Or get your chocolate fix with Fudgy Beetroot Chocolate Bran Muffin which includes gluten free flour, oats, tahnini, cocoa, coconut sugar, banana, beet-root, pecans, buttermilk and eggs. Shakshuka on offer will offer a choice of red or green!
Brunch and ‘drunch’ menus will feature beetroot buns with a choice of black bean patty with either beetroot ketchup, spicy bajan hot pepper sauce, sticky bbq sauce or korean spicy tofu mayo. The all-important sides will consist of baked sweet potato fries, greens with lemon, parmesan and almonds, chicory and raddichio with radish or spring onion and mint.
Pudding’s not been left out, choose from raw bounty bars and raw apple pie bars and don’t forget to order a milkshake, all are vegan and include dairy-free booja booja ice cream in chocolate, banana or strawberry.
The event also sees artist Jake Chapman’s unique, limited edition, lunchboxes, underscoring how special and ‘one-off’ the popup will be.
It’s difficult to think of decent reasons not to head down to Tate Modern at the best of times, but Pure Filth makes it simply unmissable.
