Lick the pavement on Picadilly if you want to know what London tastes of, but head to Tobacco Dock if you want a taste of Taste Of London. And specifically it’s Taste of London: The Festive Edition, with a Christmassy version of the 3 day extravaganza is returns as the finest culinary celebration in the capital. As ever it’ll be filled to the brim with master-classes, free food and drink, popups and stalls bringing the best of food and drink to East London.
Live on stage leading cooks like Ollie Dabbous from Henrietta, Jackson Boxer from Brunswick House, The Typing Room’s Lee Westcott, Sebby Holmes from Farang and Ellory’s Sam Kamienko will demonstrate techniques and dishes to a no-doubt captivated audience, and will be joined on the main stage by Instagrammer and foodie journalist Rosie Birkett, so there really will be something for everyone.
Off-stage, Taste of Londoners will have the chance to assemble their very own taster-menu by dipping into each of the 22 restaurants’ signature dishes, all on offer from the likes of BAO, Jamavar, Soho House, Cecconi’s, Dean Street Townhouse,m Salon and Kricket. Fancy some champagne and hotdogs to go with some Michelin starred tapas? Visit Sandia Chang’s Bubbledogs followed by Barrafina.
Never to be outdone on scale, Taste of London will this year also host the world’s biggest cheese competition with The World Cheese Awards 2017. The event will see 3,000 cheeses from around the globe assembled in one place to be judged and enjoyed.
In addition there will be over 100 artisan food and drink producers including Urban Truffle, Burley Fudge and Somerset Charcuterie among others. Whiskey makers Drambuie will be in attendence with The Drambuie Collins Lounge acting as a getaway if all the food and drink gets too much for you.
