Afternoon tea in an English tearoom, that quintesentially English institution, scones, lashings of tea… and jerked chicken with plantain? Because surely the one thing that would make a tea a better experience is an infusion of Carribean influences. Step forward Treats and Ting.
This Brixton newcomer, set over 2 floors on Tulse Hill, will merge European and Caribbean menus, with everything on the seasonal menu created from scratch.
The homemade meals will include paninis, artisan salads and soups along with breakfasts, lunches and dinners to-go. During the weekends an additional menu of delicacies including curry goat, oxtail or rice and peas will appear as well as a collection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, again made with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Treats and Ting will also operate as an office-from-office for freelancers with a comforting and homely workspace hub. Decorated with chic furnishings, bookcases heaving with reading material and retro-industrial fittings Treats and Ting would be the ideal place to head with a laptop and indulge on curry goat as you work through your to-do list.
