The nights are longer and closing in far quicker than usual so it’s time we took advantage of those extra hours that we are forced into darkness. How about you get off the streets and into the warmth of the Palm Court. Unwind the scarf, drop the bags, and settle in for an hour or two of scrummy tea, excellent service, and good company.
The Sheraton Grand has been a stalwart residence on Park Lane for many years, and The Palm Court, it’s bar and restaurant has been a glamorous addition to the hotel since the 1920’s. The venue’s charm is wrapped up in its Art Deco design and was considered “one of the most wonderful settings in which to take afternoon tea in London” by the Tea Guild. Though the Palm Court is always popular when it comes to afternoon tea. Things have stepped up a notch now that the festive tea has been released.
The new menu is full to bursting with festive treats. Warm winter spiced cookies, and a white chocolate and pumpkin crunch. Freshly baked scones with cranberries and raisins laced in rum, and of course the staple finger sandwich selection. Each with their own Christmas twist. Does a Whisky sour cured Scottish salmon, with apple and beetroot relish tickle your taste buds? Perhaps the spiced and roasted Surrey farm sirloin beef, with tomato chutney, and wild rocket is more up your street. Before the vegetarian behind you gets in a panic peeking over your shoulder, you should let them know there’s is an equally delicious selection of sandwiches for them to tuck into. Goats cheese, red pepper pesto, and wild rocket is a little hint at what they can expect.
The dark afternoons don’t seem quite so bad now after all do they?
