If you associate video gamers with empty pizza boxes, energy drinks and scurvy then think again. Gaming studio Capcom are celebrating the release of their latest game Monster Hunter: World with a free BBQ shack at Flat Iron Square. On the menu: monsters…
The premise of Monster Hunter: World, which will be released on Playstation and Xbox later this month, sees players transported to different worlds to hunt and do battle with a variety of monsters and mythical creatures. And once an intergalactic monster hunter gets home what does he like to do? Spit-roast the bag, apparently, and you won’t find us complaining if that means a free barby.
The pop up, Monster Hunter Meat Shack, will see diners sharing meat platters and burgers of truly epic proportions (these are monsters that we’ve slayed, here). The food will be doled out as diners simultaneously play the new game, with the experience mirroring what’s happening to players on the screen (players have to barbecue their prey in the game to restore health)
Running from Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th on Flat Iron Square entry and dining, including drinks, will be free and available via Eventbright. Diners will receive a 1 1/2 hour slot including a complimentary soft or alcoholic drink, and a giant meat platter or burger per table plus a side platter with bookings available for tables of 2 to 4 players.
It’s not often that you get to say you’ve fought monsters, or that you’ve just enjoyed a free dinner. Kill two birds with one stone, or should that be pterodactyls?
Monster Hunter: World is released on 26th January on Playstation4, Xbox One and will be released later on PC
