We’ve heard of craft beer, but how would you feel about crafting your own pint glass? Out of Lego? Or leaning up against a bar – made of Lego. Or ordering a Scotch Egg – made of Lego? In case you hadn’t guessed already, there’s a Lego pub coming and we predict they’re going to be pulling more pints than Barbara Legoland-Windsor.
The detail is scant, but according to the founders it’s coming in spring and will be made out of a million Lego bricks. Not only that, there’ll be Lego to play with, Lego sculptures will decorate the space and it’ll all be accompanied by tunes from non-Lego ‘local DJs’.
This all sounds great, the inner seven-year-old in all of us is itching to get on hands-and-knees and build castles and pirate ships to our hearts’ content. That said, we aren’t raising our hopes quite yet. Originally billed as the Legobar it has been hastily rebranded as The Brick Bar and a disclaimer ‘We are not associated with Lego’ slapped on the site, while there are no hard-and-fast facts whatsoever. So far the project has only succeeded in amassing a huge amount of publicity, an extensive mailing list and filling us with ‘90s nostalgia. But what’s bad about that?
The Brick Bar, will be opening this spring. Maybe…
