The Handbook
The Handbook

Be transported to the highlands, not on the Caledonian Sleeper or through the dulcet tones of Proclaimers’ 500 Miles but at Mac & Wild’s Devonshire Square restaurant this February. The restaurant, champions of everything Scottish, is putting on a series of free masterclasses, experiences and tasters, so grab your best sporran and head on over.

Each day of the week will play host to a different experience, kicking off on Tuesdays with the one that we’re especially excited about, haggis making! The taster masterclasses will be hosted by Mac & Wild’s founder, Andy Waugh, and will show us softy southerners how to craft the proud Scottish haggis!

Wednesdays are all about butchery, again with Andy who is the son of an actual butcher himself. Learn how to pluck and prepare a pheasant or how to prep a haunch of venison.

Scotland may be famed for its whisky, but Scottish gins should not be overlooked. And they won’t be on Thursdays, when guests will be able to taste three of Mac & Wild’s favourite Scottish gins while learning about the distillation process and flavours.

But back to whisky. Fridays will see guests don virtual reality headsets and taste Jura whiskies, taking them straight to the Isle of Jura through the power of technology.

Finally Saturdays will see the gin and whisky classes resurrected, so start the evening as you want to continue! Then stick around for dinner at the famous steak and burger restaurant, responsible for the some of London’s best venison, game and meats and a real taste of The Highlands.

The classes run throughout February and will be led by founder Andy Waugh
