Let’s take a look at the name of Notting Hill’s new, neighbourhood restaurant, 184 Green + Grill. 184 pays homage to Notting Hill’s legendary 192, that was a few doors down. Green refers to the creative plant-based dishes that are going to be on the menu such as fennel and celery citrus salad with a parmesan tile and the spiced pumkin dahl with crispy shallots and coconut raita. Grill, is because they will specialise in wood-fire grilled fish and meat.
Alex Giri, who along with her first husband opened the successful Canal Brasserie back in the 80’s will be joined by her son Oscar Harris, to run 184 Green and Grill, which focuses on English produce and seasonal ingredients, expect to find truffeled goat’s cheese tortellini with porcini broth and goat’s cheese ice-cream with honeycomb and balsamic grapes or chocolate ganache with burnt apple ice cream and bronzed nuts.
Wanting to go again restaurants which are chain and backed by city money, 184 Grill + Green is set to be Notting Hill’s new neighbourhood hangout.
You’ll find 184 Green + Grill at 184A Kensington Park Road, Notting Hill, W11 2ES
