This week, two London giants have made big vegan announcements. Two big announcements about doughnuts and burgers…two of our, and now everyone’s, favourite things.
First up, doughnut connoisseurs, Crosstown has announced that at the end of March they’ll be opening their first all-vegan doughnut and coffee bar on Picton Place in Marylebone. In the run up to the opening, they’ll be launching two brand new flavours as a sneak peek of what’s to come. From Friday 9th – Sunday 11th March you can try the vegan tropical compote, with a pineapple glaze and coconut chips and Friday 16th – Sunday 18th March you can try the vegan forest fruit compote with a vanilla glaze and vanilla crumble.
Next to make a big announcement is Patty & Bun, who has created the ultimate vegan burger, The Whoopi Goldburger. Made from a tempeh and mushroom fritter, topped with pickled cucumbers, diced onion, double smoked gouda cheese, mustard, ketchup, lettuce all wrapped up in a bonsoy bun. Sounds pretty darn good even if you aren’t a vegan.
Two months into 2018 and veganism seems to have grown more than the whole of 2018 – what a time to be alive!
