Right now, if we could choose where we could be, the Zen Colour Therapy Relaxation Area sounds like our sort of happy place, but like with most things in life, we’ll have to wait to be there. It’s part of the extensive renovation taking place at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London which includes a new spa opening at the end of May.

The next-generation Spa at Mandarin Oriental, London has been redesigned by Adam D. Tihany and he’s taken his inspiration from traditional Chinese fashion and symbolism, to create a contemporary space that reflects nature, precious metals and harmony found in Chinese philosophy. Basically, you’re going to feel chilled AF and that’s before you even start your treatment.

Joining the 14 spa treatment rooms, will be a spacious Oriental Suite with two massage beds; a Rasul water temple; a room for traditional ASANTE Chinese medicine consultations; a Bastien Gonzalez Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio and two further beauty rooms where you’ll be able to get express treatments. Even if your skin is as dry as sand, even if the winter has ruined your heels and made your hair frazzled, the team will leave you looking sleeker than a pedigree at Crufts.

When it comes to fitness, you’ll find a 17 metre stainless steel, heated pool, Technogym ® equipment and classes by Hollie Grant, the founder of London’s successful PilatesPT studio.  And make sure you get there early to make the most of the amethyst crystal steam room samarium, vitality pool and that all important, zen colour therapy relaxation area.

Spa at Mandarin Oriental opens at the end of May 2018
