There are some lessons in life that are useful such as: don’t text your exe when a bottle of wine down, even if it was to tell them you didn’t like them anyway; do be yourself (you can only pretend for so long that you like turmeric lattes) and it’s a good idea to keep your fridge stocked with more than some hummus and old cheese.
Then there are some things which are so useful but are definitely fun, take for example how to perfectly fillet half a cow, unless of course you’re an inspiring butcher then it is useful and fun. As part of National Butchers Week, 8th Generation O’Shea Butchers will be taking to the block at Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar to show you how to fillet half a cow and to teach you all you need to know about each cut, so you can impress your friends with your steak knowledge. After drinks on arrival and the masterclass, Executive Head Chef Jamie Welch, will be preparing the main course from the cuts produced alongside their signature Yorkshire puddings and steak tartare as well as sharing his expert tips on the cooking process.
Safe to say it’s going to be unlike any other Wednesday evening…unless of course you’re a butcher.
Meet the Butcher will take place at Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar on Wednesday 14th March.
