Everyone drinks gin, but like listening to Taylor Swift or ordering a flat white it’s not really cool, just popular. Drinking whiskey, however, there’s still an edge to that, an air of mystery. In fact, it can often leave you feeling a little stumped. If only there was a whiskey festival the appealed to both connoisseurs and novices alike…oh look our prayers have been answered, The Whiskey Affair is coming back to London next weekend.
Having started in London in 2015, the now nationwide festival, is returning to Hackney on Saturday 24th March and will be split into scotch, bourbon, whiskey and whiskey cocktails. So, there is something for all the fans, just not the gin drinkers. Set to the back drop of live music, they’ll be free samples, tasting sessions, talks from brands, independent distilleries and household names and punchy moonshines from the guys at Shine London.
Start an affair with whiskey and then have your friends look up to you as you start smugly talking about peat, drams and explaining the difference between whiskey and whisky.
The Whiskey Affair takes place on the 24th March at London Fields Brewery
